Yannick Anzuluni Signs One-Year Contract in Germany

TORONTO, September 4, 2012 – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce the signing of Yannick Anzuluni to a one-year contract with BBC Magdeburg in the German Regionalliga for the 2012-13 season.

Anzuluni, a 6’8’’ forward from Chicoutimi, Quebec played the 2011-12 season for the Quebec Kebs of the National Basketball League of Canada.  In his second consecutive season with the Kebs, Anzuluni tallied 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while scoring in double figures in four of the Kebs’ final six games.

Prior to starting his professional career, Anzuluni attended Garneau High School in Orleans, Ontario before moving on to play at Houghton College in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  In his junior year at Houghton, Anzuluni was named an NAIA Second Team All-American averaging 21.9 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game, while leading his conference in double-doubles.

“After playing professionally in Canada for two years, I am ready to head to Europe and take the next step in my career,” said Anzuluni.  “I think this is a great situation and look forward to bringing my work ethic and versatility to Magdeburg.”

BBC Magdeburg finished last season in fourth place in Regionalliga’s North Division with a 13-9 record.

“Yannick is the all-around player I was looking for,” said BBC Magdeburg Head Coach, Dimitris Polychroniadis.  “He can help us in all statistical categories and he is ready to work hard to reach the next step.  We want to integrate him into our team as soon as possible.”
