She made the second most three-pointers for a freshman in school history and shot the sixth best three-point percentage. As a sophomore, Wurtz led the Badgers in rebounding, averaging 6.8 per game, and three-pointers made with 46. As a junior, Wurtz led Wisconsin in scoring with 16.1 points per game, and rebounding at 7.6 per game. In her final season at Wisconsin, Wurtz averaged 12.6 points and was ninth in the Big Ten in rebounding with 8.1 per game. By the time she graduated, Wurtz ranked 16th in Wisconsin history in scoring, third in three-pointers attempted and made, seventh in rebounds, and eighth in double-doubles.

Wurtz then started her professional career with BBC Sparta Bertrange of the Luxembourg Total League. In her 14 games with Bertrange, Wurtz was second in the league in scoring, averaging 27.0 points and fifth in rebounding with 12.4 per game. She also added 1.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game. She then moved to Ostersund for the 2015-2016 season, leading them to a championship in Sweden’s second division and a promotion to the Damligan for the 2016-2017 season.

Wurtz is excited to continue playing in Sweden, and is hoping to build on her all star 2016-2017 campaign.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity to play for Telge Basket this season,” said Wurtz. “I am excited to meet my new teammates and coaches, and start the season. Tack sa mycket Telge!”

In the 2016-2017 season, Telge finished with a 16-11 record, which was fifth in the Damligan. This earned Telge a spot in the Damligan playoffs, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Alvik Basket.

“I am very excited that Taylor has chosen to play for Telge Basket this season,” said Telge Head Coach, Viktor Bengtson. “She comes with great references from her previous club, and from my perspective, she was the best player in our league last season. With Taylor and maybe another addition to our team we can hopefully challenge the two powerhouses in Sweden, Lulea and Udominate. Her leadership, scoring ability, and rebounding will be vital for us.”
