Rashida Timbilla Signs New Contract In Sweden

TORONTO, September 5, 2017 – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that Rashida Timbilla has signed a new contract with Visby Ladies in the Swedish Damligan.

Timbilla, a 6’1” forward is coming off of her rookie professional season with Quinta Dos Lombos in the Portuguese Liga Feminina. She averaged 11.0 points per game on 50.0% shooting from two-point range, while ranking sixth in the league in rebounding with 8.9 per game. Timbilla also averaged 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and led Quinta Dos Lombos to the Portuguese Federation Cup.

An Ottawa, Ontario native, Timbilla attended John McCrae Secondary School before heading to the University of Massachusetts. In her freshman year there, she ranked first on her team with 8.3 rebounds and second with 8.6 points per game. In her junior year, Timbilla ranked second in the Atlantic 10 Conference in rebounding with 9.4 per game, second in steals with 2.2 per game, and seventh in assists with 4.0 per game. In her senior season, she averaged 8.0 points per game and once again ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding, with 9.6 per game. Timbilla capped off her collegiate career second in total rebounds in University of Massachusetts history (1020), sixth in assists (331), third in steals (198), and eighth in blocks (87).

Timbilla was also invited to the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team training camp in Edmonton this past summer. She is excited and confident heading into her second professional season.

Visby finished in eighth place last season with a 10-17 record before losing in the quarter finals of the Damligan playoffs.
