Orane Chin Signs One-Year Professional Basketball Contract In Denmark

TORONTO, August 9, 2012 – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce the signing of Orane Chin to a one-year contract with the Bakken Bears in the Danish Basketligaen.

Chin, a 6’7’’ forward originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, graduated from California State University, Fullerton this past spring.  During the 2011-2012 season, Chin averaged 10.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He was the second most accurate three-point shooter in the Big West Conference, shooting 43.7% from beyond the arc.

A graduate of Miramar High School in Florida, Chin was a First Team All-State selection in his senior year.  He started his college career at the University of South Florida, before playing his final three seasons at Cal State Fullerton.  In his senior year, Chin was an All-Big West Honorable Mention.

“After four great years in college, I am very excited to begin my professional basketball career,” said Chin.  “The Bakken Bears are perennially a championship team and I look forward to contributing to their longstanding tradition.”

The Bears finished the 2011-12 regular season in first place with a record of 25-2, before going 8-2 in the playoffs on their way to their second consecutive league championship.
