A big congratulations to Matthew Otten who has signed a two-year deal to be the new Head Coach of prestigious Dutch club, Donar Groningen.

Matthew is coming off a remarkable rookie season as a pro Head Coach, leading Dutch Basketball League newcomer, Yoast United, to an unlikely 16-5 league record and a Dutch Cup Finals appearance.

Matthew will also continue to maintain his post as Assistant Coach for the Dutch National Team.

A Las Vegas, Nevada native by birth and naturalized Dutchmen, Matthew has history in Groningen, winning a Dutch championship there as a player in 2011 when they were known at the time as the GasTerra Flames.

It is also a big day for me at Slan Sports, as Matthew is the first coach I’ve signed in my company’s 11 year history. Humbly happy to be by his side as his career blossoms.
