Kim Pierre-Louis Re-Signs With Donau Ries In Germany

TORONTO, March 28, 2017 – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that Kim Pierre-Louis has signed on for another season with TH Wohnbau Angels Nördlingen Donau-Ries in Germany’s Damen Basketball Bundesliga (DBBL).

Pierre-Louis, a 6’0” forward, is coming off of a fantastic first season in Germany. The University of Massachusetts alumnus finished third in the league in both scoring (18.2 PPG) and rebounding (10.0 RPG). She also shot an efficient 55.3% from two-point field goal range and added 1.3 steals per contest.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Pierre-Louis attended St. Paul Catholic High School in Ottawa, Ontario, where she was recognized as one of Canada’s premier high school basketball players with her selection to play in the All-Canada Classic. Pierre-Louis then began her collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts and became the team’s leading scorer in her junior season.

In her senior season, Pierre-Louis was the Atlantic 10 Conference’s second leading scorer with 18.4 points per game and leader in field goal percentage in conference play at 53.3%. Her 7.4 rebounds per game were also eighth best in the Atlantic 10. That season, Pierre-Louis was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and earned the award for the Atlantic 10’s Most Improved Player.

Pierre-Louis started her professional career in 2015 with ASC Sepsi SIC Sfântu Gheorghe of Romania’s Liga Națională. There, she helped her team to a first place regular season record, a Romanian Cup title, and a Liga Națională championship, averaging 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in just 14 minutes per game. Pierre-Louis also shot 62.6% from two-point field goal range that season.

“I am very excited to have been a part of this year’s team,” said Pierre-Louis. “We had our ups and downs but it has still been a special season with amazing people. As a team, we feel we have unfinished business and next year we are coming on a mission.”

The TH Wohnbau Angels finished in ninth place this season, narrowly missing the DBBL playoffs. Head coach Patrick Bar believes the team can improve on this finish and is happy to bring Pierre-Louis back as the centerpiece of the team.

“Last season Kim convinced us from the beginning,” said Bar. “She was the anchor of our team, showing consistency throughout the year on offense and defense. I am absolutely thrilled that we can count on her energy and willpower again next season. Kim fits in here as an athlete and even more so as a person.”
