TORONTO, July 27, 2017 – Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce that Jill Stratton has re-signed with SG BBZ Opladen of the German 2.Bundesliga.

Stratton, a 5’11” combo guard, is coming off of her first season with Opladen, where she averaged 14.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 steals over 17 games. Stratton was named to both the Eurobasket.com All-German 2.Bundesliga North Second Team, and All-Imports Team.

An Etobicoke, Ontario native, Stratton attended high school at the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute where she was the Most Valuable Player on the women’s basketball team for three consecutive seasons. Stratton then began her collegiate career in 2010 at the University of Toronto and, in her first year was named the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) East Division Rookie of the Year. That season, she was also selected to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) All-Rookie Team, and was recognized by her school as the University of Toronto Female Rookie of the Year. In her fifth year, Stratton averaged 16.1 points and pulled down 9.1 rebounds, which ranked third in the province and ninth in the country. That season, she earned All-OUA First Team honours. Over her five-year collegiate career, Stratton was also twice named to both the OUA East Division First Team and the All-Canadian Academic Team, and, in 2011, she led the University of Toronto Blues to an OUA East Regular Season Championship and the CIS quarterfinals. Stratton graduated as the University of Toronto’s all-time regular season scoring leader with 1,245 total points.

Stratton then began her professional career by joining Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel of the German 2.Bundesliga in 2015. Unfortunately, her season came to an end after four games due to injury. Stratton returned home to Toronto to recover before having a bounce-back year this past season.
